CM Punjab launches 27 Electric Buses in Lahore

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz is the highlight of the media due to her excellent performance in Punjab. CM Punjab has launched first-ever electric buses in Lahore, and it is the first ever electric buses have been launched in Pakistan. 

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz was briefed by Transport Minister Bilal Akbar about the electric buses and the project. He said that electric buses have a Wi-Fi connection, GPS, and a USB port for charging mobiles. He said passengers can use Wi-Fi as well on electric buses. The minister briefed that electric buses will have the capacity of 80 passengers, and they have 30 seats. Moreover, it has been further said that electric buses can serve around 17,000 passengers a day.  

Additionally, he said that electric buses will accommodate disabled passengers and old-age passengers as well, and they will have different kinds of ramps and reserved seats for these passengers. 

Moreover, the transport minister briefed that there will be nine charging stations for the buses so that electric buses do not have issues while traveling. These charging stations are set up at Green Town Hamdard Chowk. 

He told CM Punjab that each electric bus can travel up to the 250 KM range with one charge, which allows the electric buses to complete 4 routes, and then they will have to be recharged again. 

The transport minister briefed that each passenger will be able to see the route displayed on screen, and cameras will be installed for safety purposes. 

CM Punjab was told that electric buses would start around mid-February, and it is expected that passengers will not have to wait longer, as the waiting time is around nine minutes. Moreover, CM Punjab was briefed that it would cover the range from the railway.
