
Government of Punjab has suspended vehicle emissions in Lahore
The government of Punjab has clarified that the current suspension of emissions is due to technical reasons as well as weather issues in Lahore. It was expected that emissions were going to be suspended because the government of Punjab is facing technical issues as well as weather issues in Lahore.
Environment Protection Department (EPA) Director General Imran Hamid Khan said citizens may face difficulties at the testing booths in case of possible water accumulation on roads due to rain.
“Due to persistent rain, ETS booths will not be operational today,” read the EPA post on Facebook.

The government of Punjab has clarified that emissions are going to start from June 27th onwards, as they were suspended due to weather issues and technical issues. It is also announced that emission testing has been extended to August 31st, 2025, while the earlier sticker for emission testing was valid until June 30th.
It is being said that the extension was given due to the extreme rush, and that is why most people and customers demanded to extend the timeline. Therefore, we have now extended the timeline by 2 months. According to the government of Punjab, they have done 123,000 emission tests so far, according to officials, in the last 50 days, and they have issued strict warnings to 2,000 cars till now.
The government of Punjab said that owners were asked to bring their vehicles for testing, and it was said that vehicles that were manufactured from 2022 till now are not required to bring the vehicles, and they are exempt.
