
Lahore to Islamabad Motorway time to be reduce by one hour
Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan recently announced the breaking news that an upgrade to the Lahore-Sialkot Freeway has been planned. At the moment, there is a current four-lane road, which will be expanded to six lanes. In addition, the freeway will be extended beyond Kharian for traveling to Islamabad and arriving early.
The primary focus of the development is to basically reduce the time by 1 hour when people are traveling from Lahore to Islamabad and it also commonly known as M-2 motorway. Abdul Aleem Khan said when it is completed, the new route will be expected to reduce the travel by around one hundred kilometers, which will massively reduce time and cut travel time by almost one hour while travelling from Lahore to Islamabad. Aleem Khan said that this project will be cutting time and this will bring direct benefits to travelers from key areas such as Gujranwala, Gujrat, Kharian, Jhelum, and Gujar Khan. This project aim will also improve the overall transport network in the region, as it is essential to shorten the distance and save fuel costs.
Abdul Aleem Khan made the announcement during a high-level meeting that was held at the National Highway Authority's Punjab Region Office. Minister Abdul Aleem Khan asked all officials involved in the road and infrastructure to focus on the project fully and show full dedication, and it should be completed on time. Abdul Aleem Khan also emphasized the planning needed for future proofing as well.
It was revealed in the meeting that the main concern was the Multan Road to the Multan Ring Road, as concern was shown regarding this. Abdul Aleem Khan said and urged that any further delays would not be tolerated and everything should be completed on time.
