Mumbai Police Arrest Saif Ali Khan's Attacker After 70-Hour Manhunt

According to Indian media and police reports, the burglar who stabbed Saif Ali Khan at his home was a Bangladeshi national.

Saif Ali Khan, who is a Bollywood superstar and did many leading roles in Bollywood blockbuster movies, was last week stabbed in his house by a burglar, who turned out to be a Bangladeshi citizen and illegally entered India. Moreover, the burglar's name was Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad.

To escape arrest and suspicion, he changed his name to Vijay Das. It is common in India for Bangladeshis to change their name to a Hindu-based name so that authorities in India do not suspect them.

Suspect Mohammad told police that he used to wrestle in Bangladesh and used to compete in lower-level weight championships. He also said that he stabbed Saif Ali Khan because he did not expect to see Saif Ali Khan at home, and out of fear, he stabbed Saif Ali Khan.

Furthermore, he told that, he used to work as a housekeeper in a hotel in Mumbai, but he was fired from there, and he was jobless for more than a month. He used to spy on and survey high-profile VIPs in India, including celebrities. He tried to escape arrest by hiding in the forest, which is 35 km away from Saif Ali Khan's home.

He was arrested along with two others; there was a raid on a hotel which provided him with a job as a housekeeper. Police confirmed that he was a Bangladeshi citizen, and he had no documents that could prove he was an Indian citizen..
