PSX lost around 4000 points amid Pak-India Tension
Long-term and short-term investors are worried about the Pakistan and India conflict, which is the reason why today the PSX lost nearly 4000 points. At midnight, Pakistan's Ministry of Information said that India is trying to attempt an unsuccessful misadventure against Pakistan, and they are ready to respond to any kind of misadventure by India. Moreover, it has been said that 24 hours to 36 hours is very crucial, and India may try to attempt to make a misadventure within this timeframe.
Moreover, the Indian prime minister has given its army chief, naval chief, and air force chief a free hand to take measures against Pakistan and try to attempt a misadventure against Pakistan. However, the Indian media also seem to suggest that India is trying to find an excuse and scapegoat in this situation, where the blame would be shifted onto these chiefs if anything goes wrong and out of control. This is the main concern of the investor, and this is the reason the Pakistan Stock Exchange is negative today and in the red. The India-Pakistan conflict news has successfully overridden the IMF board meeting for Pakistan, and it is highly likely that the IMF will approve the Pakistani loan on the 9th of May 2025.
From an investor's point of view, it is hoped that this conflict eases, and even major countries this time did not fall into the trap of India, as they have a habit of blaming Pakistan for their negligence. Pakistan is a regular target for India because of the Kashmir issue. However, in terms of defense capabilities, Pakistan is ahead of India, which is the reason why India has to think 1000 times before taking any military action against Pakistan.
Investors say that it is a positive sign that some countries are trying to mediate between Pakistan and India, including the USA, the UAE, Iran, and KSA. Investors hope the Pak-Ind conflict eases down and everything goes back to normal, and people will start business as usual. No countries in the region or anywhere around the world will want two nuclear powers fighting with each other.
