Remittance inflows to Pakistan exceed USD 3.1 billion for the month of December 2024.

According to SBP's latest workers' remittance inflows data, which was updated today (10/01/2025), remittance inflows to Pakistan were USD 3.1 billion, which is the highest remittance inflow figure for the month of December and up by 6% compared to last month. Last year, December 2023, the remittance inflows figure was USD 2.38 billion dollars, which is a 33% increase for December 2024.

As we said, Pakistan committed to FATF reforms in 2018, which is one of the major reasons Hundi/Hawal inflows are reducing, and SBP incentives to commercial banks to increase remittance inflows are now paying off.
