Starlink's got registered under SECP to operate in Pakistan, and it can be considered a major breakthrough and a major step, as it seems that the major hurdle for the Starlink operation in Pakistan is almost cleared. SCEP registered Starlink as “Starlink Internet Service (PVT)”

It is true that SECP registration is the biggest hurdle for any international business to operate in Pakistan, as it is not easy to get a license or registration certificate from SECP.

PTA issued a written reply to the Senate Standing Committee  that Starlink has already applied for the two or three ground stations in Pakistan, and it wants to operate soon in Pakistan. Currently, Starlink is under scrutiny by PSARB (Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board) and they will be the one who will issue NOC and the responsible for registration of Starlink.

Starlinks regulator framework will be based on National Satellite Policy 2023 and Pakistan Space Activities Rules 2024, and they have to agree with these frames and regulations if it wants to operate in Pakistan.

These are small steps that need to be taken by Starlink to start its operation in Pakistan, and we think that the major hurdle for Starlink is now cleared, and it will soon be allowed to operate in Pakistan.
